Carey Carter

‘A tribute to the power, beauty and inner strength that is held by all women, these Muses signify the many faces of the feminine, in all her wondrous and mysterious aspects. A magical force that infuses all life, and that dances in each one of us, through our emotions, our creativity and our kindness.

Utilising an ancient recipe of ‘rammed earth’ and infusing natural pigments, I wanted to use a material that is ecologically-sensitive. Mostly my intention was to harness and infuse the essence of the Earth’s energy into a peaceful countenance. A reminder how infinitely powerful you really are.’

Carey lives and works as a sculptor in the lush Franschhoek vineyards of the Cape with her beloved animals and children.
