Schalk Van Der Merwe is a multidiscipline, conceptual artist.
Cape Town born and raised, he studied Graphic Design at CPUT, then went on to enjoy a hugely successful advertising career. After 15 years, he left the industry to devote himself to his art. He has attracted a significant international following and has participated in numerous exhibitions.
Schalk has been exhibiting with Hout Bay Gallery since 2014.
